What you need to know about eco-friendly printers

by Dan Jacobs on July 29, 2009

There are a lot of printing companies who will openly claim to be eco-friendly, but in reality you need to be aware that only 5% of all printing firms have actually been certified as meeting the necessary requirements.

So don’t believe the eco-friendly printing claim unless you can verify that they are members of Forest Stewardship Council which promotes forest conservation and much more.

FSC Environmentally Friendly Printers

FSC Environmentally Friendly Printers

FSC is a certification system that provides internationally recognized standard-setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services to companies, organizations, and communities interested in responsible forestry.

Printers who adhere to FSC standards can generally be better trusted to take their environmental responsibilities seriously.

Or to put this the other way round. If you’re serious about being an eco-friendly organisation, then you shouldn’t even consider working with a printing company who cannot prove their chain of custody when it comes to their printing supplies and paper in particular.

Check out the PrintHouse Corporation website to see how this eco-friendly printing information is likely to be presented here.
